“Floating Theater, LIFE on the Moon” Gimbels Department Store, NY. Filmed and edited by Jud Yalkut [02 AUG 1969]
Parachute used as the screen in a multi-media projection during a performance at State University College in Oneonta. It was inflated by air blown from four fans, providing an airflow of 40,000 cubic feet per minute.
Another model is shown a model of a vented and sleeved parachute to be a tent structure. Since the fabric is stretched on cables anchored at some distance beyond its edge, sufficient auxiliary support is provided to prevent a total collapse in the absence of wind. These video clips of red canopy show scenes re-produced recently, with an automatic control air-pressure system.
