006-2:Picture of Building a House in Akiyama

Upon arriving at Shimizukawara, Suzuki Bokushi was served tea and described the construction of the house as follows:

When viewing the interior of this house and observing the surrounding walls, one sees that they are separated by slender timbers at approximately one-meter intervals, connected to the pillars, and with thatched screens erected and tied in place. From the outside, the house appears to be made entirely of thatch, with no pillars visible. The windows, sporadically placed, are exceedingly small and few in number. What appears to be an altar is crafted by suspending planks with ropes. Several ancient Buddhist scroll paintings hang on the walls, and there are also talismans from Ise Grand Shrine, Ebisu, and Togakushi Shrine.
