東北東
この東北東の方角（ENE）は高瀬川の下流方向で、大町ダムが位置します。この東北東の延長線上には長野市や福島県郡山市、相馬市が位置します。
大町ダムは高瀬川が大町市の平野部への出口部に位置し、昭和44年8月に発生した大洪水をきっかけに、洪水調節を主な目的として作られた多目的ダムで、重力式コンクリートダムです。大町ダム湖は、地元に伝わる民話「犀龍と泉小太郎の伝説」から「龍神湖」と名付けられています。
さらに、東北東の方角には高瀬川が合流する犀川が千曲川に注ぎ、信濃川となって流下する新潟県中魚沼郡津南町があります。津南町で信濃川に注ぐ中津川沿いには高野山ダムや、大地の芸術祭2024「驟雨がくる前に」の秋山郷清水川原が近くに位置しています。
高野山ダムは1971年に完成したロックフィルダムで、ロックフィル材は中津川沿いの上流6ｋｍの前倉地域の原石山で採取された安山岩を使用している。ダム表面はアスファルトコンクリートフェーシングにより遮水されています。

In the east-northeast (ENE) direction lies the downstream section of the Takase River, where the Omachi Dam is located. Along this east-northeast line are Nagano City, Koriyama City, and Soma City in Fukushima Prefecture. The Omachi Dam, situated at the exit of the Takase River into the plains of Omachi City, is a multipurpose dam primarily constructed for flood control following a major flood in August 1969. It is a gravity concrete dam, and the reservoir created by the dam is named “Ryujin Lake,” after the local legend of the “Sai Dragon and Kotaro Izumi.”
Further in the east-northeast direction, the Takase River merges with the Sai River, which then flows into the Chikuma River, eventually becoming the Shinano River. In Niigata Prefecture’s Tsunan Town, located in the Nakauonuma District, lies the area where the Nakatsu River flows into the Shinano River. Along the Nakatsu River near Tsunan Town, you will find the Koyasan Dam and the Akiyama-go Shimizugawara site, which is part of the 2024 Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale’s exhibit titled “Before the Sudden Shower.”
The Koyasan Dam, a rock-fill dam completed in 1971, was constructed using andesite sourced from the Maekura area, located 6 km upstream along the Nakatsu River. The dam’s surface is waterproofed with asphalt concrete facing.
